There was a lot of reasons why a man would be sitting on the couch of another’s home, but in this case, there really was only one. Dimly lit, only the moonlight outside provided any ambience to the insides. The subtle haze that hung outside from the proximity to the sea, and the great lake in the middle of the town, all of which obscured the stars above.

Keys jingled softly as Kaname inserted them into the lock of his Sootopolis apartment door, turning them in the lock and pushing the door open slowly. Moonlight cast its way across the living room floor, a pale silver glow the only light to see him by. A panicked look quickly became one of rage as he realized who sat on the couch of the dimly moonlit room.

“Does no one in this entire organization have manners?” He spat, walking into the small kitchen to roughly place a glass bottle of something down on the counter. “What the fuck do you want? You could’ve just called and arranged a meeting instead of breaking and entering.” His voice was tight, as though Kaname was mere seconds away from snapping.

Cabinet doors opened and slammed shut as he snatched a small glass that he promptly filled with the bottle on the counter.

“Out with it.” He snapped, turning toward Kouji with a glass of dark liquor in hand.

There was a sneer that followed his voice, but then he coughed aloud to clear his chest for a moment. The lights that bled through the windows caught on his golden eyes, giving them a shine.

”I hope it’s something that furthers your goals, because your disappearance has thrown a wrench in my ideas.” He said as he looked in front of him, getting up from the chair, and closing the distance to the other man.
